Vision: To work with underserved / unserved African immigrants and refugees in the Bay Area to enable them access of appropriate services in the field of mental health, public health, educational research, and other critical services.

Mission: Provide linguistically and culturally sensitive health services to empower individuals to adjust to their social environment by learning new coping mechanisms which enhances their self indentity. The wholestic health service approach will help promote a balanced physiological, mental, emotional, and social well-being.

Presently ACHI is being funded by Santa Clara County’s First Five Program to perform in outreach and engagement services. The focus is on providing information to parents of children from zero to five years of age to help them grow to their fullest potential.

Future Plans: ACHI will provide public and mental health services, and educational research on the needs of the African refugees and immigrants and other vulnerable populations. We also will collaborate with existing service-providing agencies to do information and referral towards services such as immigration, social services and other necessary needs
